Russbach am Dachstein is very popular as one of Salzburg’s leading hiking villages. The Hornbahn lift in Russbach carries you quickly up into the mountains, to the top of the Hornspitz. Beginning there at 1500 meters above sea level are countless hiking paths. Leading through lush alpine meadows, with imposing mountain scenery constantly before your eyes. Fun & Games in Ghost Forest

Help the forest spirits find their lost treasures. There are 10 different stations to collect stamps. Once you have filled your stamp passbook, return to the village to claim a great Forest Spirits Medal as your reward. Various play stations for children and places for their parents to enjoy a rest make this pathway an experience that the whole family is sure to enjoy.

  • Sonnseitnweg No. 30, 4.5 km pathway, takes about 2 hours to complete
