Salzburg Harvest Festival

From the end of August until the beginning of November, Salzburg Harvest Festival is celebrated throughout Lammertal. After a successful summer season up on the alpine pastures, the cows are decked out in all their finery and driven back down to the valley.

In autumn, various farms also invite you to sample culinary, home-produced specialties from the region.

Lammertaler HeuART-Fest

One particular highlight of Harvest Festival is the Lammertaler HeuART-Fest, a true celebration of local traditions and folk customs. The world’s biggest parade of hay figures is accompanied by local bands, whip snappers, folk-costume groups, along with a foods & crafts market. This annual event in September rotates between Abtenau and four other Tennengau communities – Annaberg-Lungötz, Russbach and St. Martin.

Romance & Sport: Winter Holidays in Salzburger Land

Enjoyment on the pistes and the magic of an open fire: Spend a picture-book winter in Abtenau. Karkogel, Postalm and the Dachstein West ski area offer ideal snow conditions.
