Carefree hours for the whole family
You will pass the idyllic village of St. Koloman and continue along a 9 km-long scenic toll road to the top of the Trattberg, with fascinating views of the surrounding Salzburg mountains your constant companions. Having reached the top, you will be able to choose between numerous tours and hiking paths – many of which are also suitable for strollers – promising carefree hours with your whole family. Four traditional mountain huts invite you to take a break for some refreshments during your hike, treating you to a delicious selection of Austrian specialties that are produced right here in the region.
Trattberg – a hiking paradise near Salzburg
If you drive up the Trattbergalm scenic road, you will come to the Schröck viewing platform. Standing there, you are treated to a magnificent panorama of the mountain landscapes of Tennengau in SalzburgerLand. The Trattberg provides every nature lover with perfect scenery to accompany their Tennengau excursion.
The high plateau covers some 600 hectares in total. There are also numerous pram-friendly pathways – meaning that nothing stands in the way of an excursion with your whole family. Young explorers, in particular, are really proud when they get to enter their own name in the “Summit Book” for the very first time. Meanwhile, parents and grandparents absolutely relish the breathtaking panorama of the surrounding Salzburg mountains.
In early summer, the alpine meadows on the Trattberg are transformed into a sea of wildflowers in full bloom. Also during autumn hiking season, the entire area captivates with beautiful lookout points where you can pause to appreciate the scenery.

Arrival
Begin your excursion to the hiking paradise on the Trattbergalm by taking the scenic road from St. Koloman im Tennengau. This 9 km-long toll road is open from May to October and will bring you all the way up to the Schröck viewing platform.
