Clearly signposted trails, digital tour platforms and excellent infrastructure across all 14 villages create ideal conditions for active days on 2 wheels.

Bike enthusiasts can explore around 720 kilometes of mountain bike trails across the region. A total of 26 tours criss-corss the region, leading to scenic viewpoints and welcoming alpine huts.
Thanks to its central location, Tennengau is also perfectly connected to neighbouring bike regions such as the Salzkammergut and the Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria. This opens up a network of around 160 routes with 3.000 kilometres in total – perfect for extending your biking holidays.
A spectacular loop around the Dachstein massif across Upper Austra, Salzburg and Styria. Different options await bike enthusiasts: from the classic loop (former known as blue route) around the impressive Dachstein plateau to the physically and technically demanding Experience Route (former known as black route). The circuit around the Dachstein massif offers stunning views and a varied cycling route.
This 3-day tour covers around 143 kilometres and 4.070 metres of elevation gain. Highlights include panoramic mountain views, refreshing alpine lakes and more than 30 traditional alpine huts on the Postalm – Austria’s largest alpine pasture area. Perfect for a long weekend or an active short break, with luggage transfer available between accomodations.
Tennengau is the ideal starting point for unlimited gravel adventures. Several tours connect seamlessly with the Salzkammergut, the Berchtesgadener Land in neighbouring Bavaria and other regions across SalzburgerLand. This creates varied routes that go beyond valley and regional boundaries – from quiet riverside paths and scenic alpine roads to challenging gravel mountain passes.
This gravel tour takes you to Austria’s largest connected alpine pasture area – the Postalm. Starting in Golling, the route challenges both rider and bike over a distance of around 76 km. The undisputed highlight is the ascent via the old Postalm road. Once you reach the expansive alpine area, numerours mountain huts invite you to take a break and recharge. The descent along the paved “new” road rewards for the effort.
This cross-border gravel tour takes 5-7 days and leads through Bavaria, SalzburgerLand and into Salzkammergut region. Following the area’s abundant water resources, the route is designed in a figure-eight shape, allowing it to be split into a northern and a southern section.
The circular tour offers flexible entry points, making it easy to start at different locations.
