Easter

Easter festivities, including Palm Sunday, Holy Week and celebrations revolving around Christ's resurrection, are regarded as the climax of the church calendar.  At holy masses on Easter Sunday, foods (bacon, bread, eggs and salt) are first blessed, then consumed at a noontime meal.

In some Tennengau communities, you also encounter the "Pranger" shooters.  Their "weapons" are artistically designed ceremonial guns, around 70 cm in length and weighing as much as 30 kg, fired off at salutes on special holidays.
