The Salzachöfen on Pass Lueg is a gorge-like area where the River Salzach forces its way between the Tennengebirge and Hagengebirge mountains. Highlights include the gorge's "Cathedral", as well as the chasm the river has cut into the Dachstein limestone, as deep as 100 m in some places. A walk through the forest isn't strenuous in the slightest and is filled with wonderful variety. From the Pass-Lueg-Höhe Inn, a culture trails takes us on a journey through the history of Golling.
Tip: the Salzach-Lammer Tour offers recreation at its finest. Lammer Island is a great spot to swim, though you will have to wade out through the water to get there ...
Refreshment Opportunity: Gasthof Pass-Lueg-Höhe
